It’s our mission to support marginalized youth by providing them with the resources needed to take innovative steps to tackle the climate crisis within their local communities for a regenerative future.
OUR HISTORY
Our founder Kevin J. Patel officially announced OneUpAction on September 23, 2019, during the UN week in New York City, originally as an organization to amplify BIPOC voices and leadership. His goal was to empower communities to take local action. Now, our team and partners work tirelessly to fight for a regenerative future by providing resources and support to marginalized youth.
OUR JOURNEY
OneUpAction is built by a group of powerful intersectional youth advocates who realized that just participating in climate strikes, rallies, and legislative advocacy wasn’t enough to solve the climate crisis. In order to see a true impact, we must take our energy to mass mobilize and complement it with local direct action. They are the founding members of OneUpAction with the goal of creating a platform in which marginalized young people could get the resources needed to be empowered to take direct action in their own communities to combat the climate crisis when people in positions of power are not.
