Young women and girls were also some of the most affected by the pandemic, most of their parents having lost their income, the girls lost access to sanitary pads leading some to being exploited for sex in exchange for money to buy pads, leading to a spike in teenage pregnancies. We fundraised and were able to support over 50 girls for 6 months supplies of sanitary towels. To show their gratitude the girls planted indigenous and fruit trees in their compounds, this will help increase green cover in the area and provide nutritious food in a few years time! Together we planted over 100 trees!
